L’INAUGURATION DU FESTIVAL DES ARCHITECTURES VIVES 2012 MARDI 12 JUIN - 18h30 OPENING OF THE FESTIVAL OF LIVELY ARCHITECTURE 2012 Tuesday, June 12 - 6:30 p.m. France La septième édition du festival se tiendra au mois de juin 2012, pendant 5 jours, les 13-14-15-16 et 17 juin 2012 à Montpellier. Montpellier, 11 juin 2012 – Sur le thème de la surprise, une centaine d’équipes internationales a répondu présente et 10 d’entre elles ainsi que l’université invitée vont vous présenter des oeuvres toutes plus surprenantes les unes que les autres pour cette 7ème édition du Festival des Architectures Vives à Montpellier. Le Festival a pour objet la sensibilisation du grand public au large domaine de l’architecture. Il s’attache non seulement à mettre en avant le travail d’une jeune génération d’architectes, paysagistes, urbanistes mais aussi à faire découvrir des territoires urbains inattendus. Le projet que propose le Festival des Architectures Vives prendra place au coeur de la ville historique, et se transforme en parcours, sorte de découverte architecturale en coeur de la ville. The seventh edition of the festival will be held in June 2012, during 5 days, on June 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th, 2012 in Montpellier. Montpellier, June 11, 2012 – On the theme of the surprise, hundred of international teams answered and 10 of them with the invited university are going to present to you works all more surprising than the others for this 7th edition of the Festival of the Lively Architectures in Montpellier. The Festival has for subjet the raising awareness of the general public to the wide domain of the architecture. It attempts not only to advance the work of a young generation of architects, landscape architects, town planners but also to make discover unexpected urban territories. The project proposed by the Lively Architectures’s Festival will take place in the heart of the historic city, and is transformed into path, goes out of architectural discovery in heart of the city. + Ce parcours relie des hôtels particuliers et cours intérieures, qui majoritairement privées ne sont pas visibles pour les visiteurs. Deux objectifs sont fixés. D’une part, ouvrir aux visiteurs, le temps du festival ces sites emblématiques. D’autre part, grâce à l’intervention des équipes de créateurs présenter une oeuvre spécifique à chaque lieu et révéler une relation intime entre une architecture contemporaine et un site patrimonial. D’une dimension urbaine étonnante, les hôtels particuliers proposent des lieux aux caractéristiques diverses et ouvrent le champ à des explorations toutes aussi riches et variées. Cette étude propose une dizaine de sites où pourront se développer les architectures vives selon la thématique de « La Surprise » retenue pour cette 7ème édition du Festival. Ces réalisations éphémères de petite échelle, conçues de façon simple et évidente prendront possession des lieux le temps du festival. Sans laisser de traces physiques, le Festival cherche à marquer les esprits et à engager une réflexion globale sur l’architecture et son développement dans un contexte urbain existant ; il se place en amorce et en avant-première d’une mutation prévue. Le Festival des Architectures Vives propose une image ouverte et dynamique de l’architecture actuelle. C’est une manifestation organisée par des architectes, avec des professionnels de la question urbaine, pour un large public, du non-initié au plus averti. Il se déroule dans la ville et met en scène des prototypes, des animations, des visites thématiques ou encore des expériences architecturales à différentes échelles. La septième édition du festival se tiendra au mois de juin 2012, pendant 5 jours, les 13-14-15-16 et 17 juin 2012 à Montpellier. Une inauguration aura lieu le 12 juin au soir. Le Festival des Architectures Vives invite des équipes composées d’architectes mais aussi de paysagistes, d’urbanistes et d’artistes à réaliser des interventions in situ, librement conçues. Le PAVILLON du Festival des Architectures Vives Pour l’édition 2011, nous avons mis en place pour la première fois un pavillon d’accueil du FAV. Ce pavillon permettant au public d’avoir des informations sur le festival, le programme, également de pouvoir acheter les livres des éditions précédentes. C’est aussi le point de départ du parcours du Festival. De part son positionnement au coeur de la ville de Montpellier, à la croisée des rues principales, le pavillon offre une visibilité importante à l’implantation du festival. Ce projet a pu voir le jour grâce à un partenariat d’entreprise réalisé avec la société Eco-emballage puis avec les sociétés Adelphe, Construire Acier, Verre Avenir, KDI, Pernod. Pour l’année 2012, nous avons souhaité confier la réalisation du pavillon au collectif d’architectes « Atelier Vecteur » installé à Montpellier et qui avait également pris part au concours en 2011. L’objectif du pavillon est identique : - être le lieu d’accueil et d’informations, - le point de rendez-vous et de départ du parcours car facilement identifiable, - faire le lien avec les années précédentes en images et par la présentation des ouvrages du FAV depuis 2006. Mais ce sera aussi : - le lieu du vote du public pour la meilleure installation - le lieu de la remise du prix du public et du prix du jury. Without leaving of track physical, the Festival tries to mark the spirits and to hire a global reflection on the architecture and its development in an existing urban context; it takes place in onset and in preview of a planned transfer. The Festival proposes an opened and dynamic image of the current architecture. It is an event organized by architects, with professionals of the urban question, for a wide public, the uninitiated in the most warned. It takes place in the city and stages prototypes, animations, thematic visits or still architectural experiences with various scales. The Lively Architectures’Festival invites teams composed by architects but also landscape architects, town planners and artists to realize interventions in situ, freely designed. The PAVILION of Festival des Architectures Vives For the 2011’s edition, we set up for the first time a welcome pavilion of the FAV. This pavillon allow the public to get informations on the festival, the schedule and also to be able to buy the books of the previous editions. It is also the point of departure of the Festival’s path. Because of its placed in the heart of the city of Montpellier, between the main streets, the pavilion offers an important visibility for the setting-up of the festival. This project was able to be born thanks to a partnership of company realized with the company Eco-emballage then with the companies Adelphe, Construire Acier, Verre Avenir, KDI, Pernod Ricard and Coca-Cola. It is also for it that we chose to position it in the courtyard of the Chamber of commerce and industry of Montpellier, in the heart at the same time of the city and the companies. For year 2012, we wished to entrust the realization of the pavilion to the young collective of architects " Atelier Vecteur " installed in Montpellier and which had also taken part in the competition in 2011. The objective of the pavilion is identical: - be the place of welcome and information, - the meeting point and departure of the path as it is easily recognizable, - make the link with the previous years in images and by the presentation of the books of the FAV since 2006. But it will also be: - the place of the vote of the public for the best installation, - the place of the handing of the Jury’s and public’s prize.
